My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking my top three DC annoyances.
When I was looking at colleges, The West Wing was one of the most popular shows on television. I had it in my head that, one day, I wanted to be C.J. Cregg. I loved the idea of spinning stories and hustling around those in power. So, I only looked at colleges that were in Washington, DC. Well, after one summer interning on the Hill, I learned that politics was not for me. But, I never regretted my decision to go to school in DC. After four years, I knew that I wanted to make this area my home.
As much as I love this city, there have been a few issues that come with living in such a popular tourist destination. There are large crowds that expand to fill all the sidewalk space, parking can be a nightmare, large events (while fun to attend) can be a pain to work around. (And stand on the right on the metro escalators!) But, you could say that about living in any big city.
Living in DC, however, comes with a few special annoyances you won’t find in other places.
