My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking at my top three drinks I used to love.
Our tastes evolve over time. If they didn’t, I probably would have never moved beyond Kraft spiral mac and cheese and crystal Pepsi. When it comes to drinking, I was a (mostly) law abiding citizen. I had glass of wine with my parents here and there and, in college, I can only remember a handful of occasions where I drank before the age of 21. (I had a healthy fear of hangovers before I ever had one.) Once I could drink, my tastes were definitely of the “what’s available” and “is it cheap” variety. My palate was also heavily influenced by those around me.
Post-college, I gravitated towards the same items time and again because I enjoyed them and I knew what to expect. These days, as I’ve tried new flavors and grown beyond the happy hour menu, I’ve transitioned into a new set of beverages. What were once favorites have faded into the background. These drinks may not fill my cup anymore, but I fondly remember the memories that came with them.
