My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking at my top three keyboard shortcuts.
If my husband was writing this week’s post, I think he would have a lot cooler options on this list. He’s a master at keyboard shortcuts and macros. I’m not a master, but I have found just how useful it can be to get things done without needing to move your hand to the mouse. One of the best parts of my job is seeing the wonder on people’s faces when I introduce them to a keyboard shortcut they were unaware of.
Awhile back, I was so happy to share these tricks that I did a short-lived series on my blog where I featured these (plus a few other librarian-related tips). While I don’t like to fall into the “cult of busy,” sometimes simple tricks just make your life easier. Keyboard shortcuts are one of those things. There’s less hassle and frustration once you have these tools in your brain.
I always love learning a new shortcut! Share yours in the comments.
