My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking at my top three movies I liked as a kid.
As a parent, I’ve become accustomed to watching the same things over and over and over again. Our kiddo will only watch three shows. At this point, we have them memorized. Before these shows came into our lives, we watched The Secret Lives of Pets more than a dozen times. Repetitive viewing was something I expected because I did it myself. These shows and films became comforting favorites. The thrill of reliving dramatic or heartwarming moments provided a sense of familiarity that was both comforting and exciting.
Now, when I think back to the movies I watched on repeat as a kid, I’m hit with a wave of nostalgia. These were the films I acted out in the living room, the ones that inspired countless art projects, and those that brought happy tears to my eyes no matter how many times I watched them. They remind me that, just like my kiddo's favorites today, those childhood films offered a special kind of magic that stayed with us through the years.
