My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking at my top three natural sounds.
Last week, I had the pleasure of going on a quick spa getaway with my bestie. The spa was great but, when we weren’t lolling about in fluffy robes, we were enjoying the hiking trails and paths around the hotel. (Who knew a golf cart path made for the perfect after dinner walk?) Over the course of two days, I got to enjoy all of my favorite sounds. As I pampered myself, nature was kind enough to provide my favorite soundtracks.
Natural sounds have a way of calming our nerves. Forest bathing is a legit thing. Take a walk through the woods and you can’t help put let your ears take in everything around you. We can enjoy all kinds of music or ASMR or joyous notes like kids laughing. These are all great things, but natural sounds get back to the basics. They are immersive but subtle. These sounds provide an auditory experience that is neither threatening or loud.
The world around us has a way of providing the best relaxation. Natural sounds are the ones I seek when I need to reset.
