I upgraded my phone last week. The transition gave me a chance to really assess which apps I wanted to bring with me. Email and calendar, obviously. Social media and navigation apps, yup. But what about those random, non-social media apps that I didn’t technically need but find useful. Several got the ax but a few have proven to be so helpful they got the download.
There are more phone apps in the world than I care to think about. I’m in the habit of downloading new things, giving them a whirl, and then letting them languish in folders. Once a year or so, I purge what I haven’t opened. But some apps become integral to my life. These apps tend to be rather niche which means they tackle a particular problem. Instead of being a time suck of scrolling, these apps make my life just a little easier.
