My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking at my top three snacks.
What makes a good snack? For me, it’s something I can munch on with one hand while I use my laptop or watch TV. Generally, that means something small or easily held. A snack is also not something I would want to have as a side dish with a meal. Nor is it something that can be an ingredient in something else. (Sorry carrot sticks. You are tasty, but you’re not a “snack food” by my definition.)
In my book, snack foods are mostly commercially produced items that take little to no prep. All I need to do is pour them in a bowl or put them on a plate. Better yet, simply reach my hand into the bag and enjoy with minimal mess. (I am not a Cheeto dust kind of girl.)
Finally, I want enough of the item to feel sated without it being so large that I feel like I’ve eaten second breakfast or supper after dinner.
