My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking my top three things I love about parenting.
After last week’s rant about the things I very much dislike about parenting, I wanted to pivot to the things that make it all worth it. From the moment you first meet your kid, there’s a forever connection that wraps around your heart. Sometimes it grows and strengthens, other times it tugs and pulls, but it’s always there. I find that this bond glows and shimmers when I’m delighting in our relationship.
What people love about parenting their kid is definitely a personal thing. But, I think there are always emotions of joy, pride, and amusement as an undercurrent. As a parent, you have a mix of responsibility, fun, and love to balance. For me, that balance thrives when I’m mindfully spending time with my kid or getting to see her curiosity while exploring something together.
Also, if you ever need a mood boost, watching videos of kiddo giggles is a good place to start. They are pure, musical joy.
