My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking at my top three trips to Europe.
Between high school trips, college spring breaks, and personal vacations, I’ve visited six countries in Western Europe. If you count airports (but not actually being a tourist), I’ve visited seven. (Sorry, Belgium. I’ll come back one day.) I’ve loved every trip abroad. Each was a chance to explore a new culture, learn some history, eat delicious food, and discover new places.
These trips were also a chance for me to grow and challenge some of my anxieties (although I will forever hate flying). Travel helps us expand who we are. It challenges us to break out of our comfortable routines. Even when I go back to the same city, the experience is never the same. I’m different than who I was before, and that makes each trip a new adventure.
Plus, travel comes with two of my favorite things - walking around and eating lots of food.
