My Top 3: Winter Memories

My Top 3 is a weekly post where I count down three things I love in a random category. This week, we’re looking my top three winter memories.

I’m in indoor cat. In winter, you’ll find me inside, under blankets, and generally doing anything I can to avoid being outside. Winter is my indoor productive season. I get lots of stuff done because I simply do not like being cold. Even I’ll admit, however, that winter has its upsides. The world is beautiful when it looks like it’s been covered in powdered sugar. I also like the excuse to make hot chocolate and wear cozy sweaters. A fire crackling in a hearth is one of my favorite sounds. And tossing a snowball at your unsuspecting husband is always good for a laugh.

Winter, while not my favorite season, still holds fond memories. The world may be dark but it’s not always dreary. It feels quieter somehow. I also get a sense of togetherness that I enjoy. The Danish idea of hygge embodies it best. Despite the cold, winter is cozy.

I look forward to making new winter memories with my kiddo but, for now, these are the moments I most enjoy recalling.
