The Best Thing is our weekly discussion thread where we share the one thing that we read, listened to, watched, did, or otherwise enjoyed recently.
My best thing for the week is that satisfying feeling you get from deleting things. I’ve been on a quest to simplify my online/digital life. Recently, I finally came to terms with the fact that there are just some files I no longer need. I hit delete on (almost) all of my old college papers. (Saved the two theses I wrote, though.) At first, I felt very anxious about that but, just as I did it, I felt a burden lift. I’m just never going to look at them again. Why was I keeping them around for so long?
It's the librarian in you -- organizing information isn't as helpful without getting rid of extraneous information! I am the same way. I love to go through my old files and delete things.
My best thing this week is the Triple Chocolate Loaf of Allie's Banana Bread that I ordered during a weak and hungry moment on Saturday. It hasn't arrived yet (I think it comes tomorrow) but if you google that product, you will see why I am excited (as long as you like chocolate and banana bread, I guess).
