The Best Thing is our weekly discussion thread where we share the one thing that we read, listened to, watched, did, or otherwise enjoyed recently.
We’re hiring for an open position at our library. I’m on the committee and we started interviews yesterday. This position has been open for 8 months. I’m glad that we have some decent candidates because we need someone in this role. While the paper work of hiring is never fun, I like talking to people about their experiences and ideas.
See, I love bureaucratic paperwork -- it's the meeting new people that's rough for me. I was on staff hiring committees at the UMBC library many times, and I had to hire my own student assistants. Most people were fine or even nice, of course -- I am just socially anxious.
My best thing is that housemate is going to visit her sister in Virginia over the weekend, so I will have the house to myself. I'm even taking off Friday so that I have three days alone instead of just Saturday and Sunday. Not that I am doing anything crazy, or even fun -- I just prefer to do major housework when I am completely alone.

I one 100% get what you mean about cleaning while alone. I prefer that as well.
